One of the tasks Jesus gave to His Church is equipping the saints for the work of ministry to build up the body of Christ.1 Our Equip U program pursues that goal. Like a university setting, the goal is interactive instruction, but unlike a typical university setting, the goal is instruction which has immediate application to life, making us "doers of the word, and not hearers only"2 Because only God’s Word informs us about everything pertaining to life and godliness, each class is based there. The overall goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.3
Individual 8-week Equip U classes cover foundational Christian life issues such as Bible study skills, prayer, marriage, parenting, evangelism, stewardship, decision making, conflict resolution, apologetics and more. Classes will be discussion-oriented in order to make the teaching and equipping as personal and profitable as possible. We plan to repeat most classes periodically to refresh and deepen our understanding in new ways. By obeying our Lord in this specific way, we trust Jesus will build His church.
